Anamelia M. Eden, 88, of Glen Carbon, IL, formerly of Prairietown, IL, died at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at 3:52 p.m. She was born on December 25, 1926, in St. Louis, MO to Walter H. Evers and Pearl (Bauer) Evers. She married the late Edmond H. Eden on July 6, 1947, in St. Peter’s Church in Prairietown, IL.
She was a homemaker, tax preparer and taught at Hickory Grove School. Anamelia was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL; Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML); First International Mission Service Chairman of the LWML; past president of Southern Illinois District (SID) of Lutheran Women Missionary League and Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Synodical Board.
Anamelia enjoyed quilting and making quilts for her family.
She is survived by her three Sons, Keith E. (Marcia) Eden of Dorsey, IL, Craig L. Eden of Dorsey, IL, Brent (Nancy) Eden of Ashkum, IL; eight grandchildren, Kim (Dana) Dann-Messier of University City, MO, Lance (Kara) Eden of Bunker Hill, IL, Neil (Christine) Eden of Kirkwood, MO, Blaine (Mindy) Eden of Morton, IL, Joel (Erica) Eden of Westland, MI, Jason (Joanna) Eden of Streamwood, IL, Scott (Mandi) Eden of Caledonia, MI, Tim (Amanda) Eden of Sulphur Springs, TX; 19 great-grandchildren, Marcie Eden, Layla Eden, Anna Dann-Messier, Ian Dann-Messier, Jacob Eden, Isabella Eden, Emma Eden, Dane Eden, Nicole Eden, Noah Eden, Natalie Eden, Naomi Eden, Nathaniel Eden, Nolan Eden, Matthew Eden, Michaela Eden, Bailey Eden, Alexa Eden, Graham Eden; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Eden of Dorsey, IL.
Anamelia was preceded in death by her father, Walter H. Evers; mother, Pearl Evers; husband, Edmond H. Eden; daughter-in-law, Ellen Linnea Eden; grandchild, Mark Eden; and brother-in-law, Lewis Eden.
Visitation services will be on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL with Rev. Dale Skeesick and Rev. Joel Eden officiating. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL.
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and School of Prairietown, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League or to Meridian Village Benevolent Fund.
