Lois A. Spickerman of Bunker Hill, IL died Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1:43 pm at St. Anthony’s in Alton, IL. She was 87 years old at the time and was the widow of Floyd Spickerman on October 26, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1965.
She worked at Knibbs IGA in Bunker Hill and was a custodian from 1979 to 1995 at Meissner School. She also was a member of St. Ann’s Altar Society, St. Mary’s Church of Bunker Hill, St. Michael’s Church of Staunton, but enjoyed her grandchildren and playing cards with her family.
Lois is survived by daughters: Crystal (Mike) Meehan of Rockbridge, IL, Rita (Terry) Ambueho of Lake Ozark, MO, son in law: Dick Braucht, 8 Grandchildren: Domino (Ray) Kuipers, Erik (Tannaz) Braucht, Derrick (Alice) Braucht, Jason (Fiancée, Carrie) Rushing, A.J. Meehan, Casey Meehan, Kate “Katydid” (Joe) Garner, Lauren Meehan, 7 Great-Grandchildren: Braxton Kuipers, Logan Braucht, Gavin Braucht, Vanessa Braucht, Rio Braucht, Keaton Rushing, Savannah Randick, 2 sisters: Mary (James) Rhoads of Olathe, KS, Elizabeth (James) Ray of Bunker Hill, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, daughter: Marsha Braucht, and grandson: Richard Dean “Skeeter” Braucht, Jr.
Friends may call on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
The funeral is set to take place Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church in Staunton, IL. Burial will follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery. The service will be ministered by Fr. George Radosevich. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
