
Our beloved best friend Merry L. Callovini, 66, of Staunton passed away at 4:36 AM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton. She was born on August 7, 1956, in Alton the daughter of the late Shirley (Geisler) Hansel Buehler and the late Kenneth Buehler.
She married Phil Callovini Sr. on September 3, 1988, and he survives. Merry worked as a paralegal with law offices in Edwardsville for many years and was also a Mary Kay consultant. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Staunton, Staunton Lions Club, and she volunteered at St. Michael’s Church and at His Service Station in Staunton.
She is survived by her husband, Phil Callovini Sr. of Staunton; five children, Phil (Angie) Callovini Jr. of Holiday Shores, Marthee (Pete) Sansone of Staunton, Michael (Amy) Callovini of Staunton, Krystal (Matt) Marra of Staunton, and Cory (Jackie) Rodreguiz of Staunton; nine grandchildren, Julian Lopez, Austin Callovini, Tristan Sansone, Anthony Sansone, Madalyn Callovini, Gunnyr Marra, Alex (Michael) Ashpole, Samantha (Dustin) Scheller, and Michael Senaldi; three great-grandchildren, Mila, C.J., and Finn; siblings, Eunice Morse, Carl Hansel, Max Hansel, Audrey Owens, Beth Buehler, Jackie Boda, Sheila Friend, Robbie Buehler, and Edith Schehl; brother-in-law, Alan (Debbie) Callovini; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Annette & Bino Callovini.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Rev. Thomas Hagstrom officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to either Darts for Kids, National Diabetes Foundation, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
