Rev. Kenneth W. Martin, 85, of Wilsonville, IL died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 1:30 pm at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, IL. He was born on January 23, 1929 in Hartford, IL to John Martin and Era (Grigsby) Martin. He married Wanda “Pete” (Brewer) Martin and she preceded him in death on February 3, 2005. He then remarried to Martha (Stevens) Martin, and she preceded him in death on January 6, 2006.
He was occupied as a union painter and senior pastor at Life Harvest Church in Wilsonville, IL. He was a member of the Painters Local 471 of Collinsville, IL and board member of Pentecostal Church of God.
Kenneth leaves behind his children, Cindy (Ron) Hazelwood of Nilwood, IL, Sheila Jerls of Sullivan, MO, Starla Strange of Bunker Hill, IL, Cammie (Rick) Schoeneweis of Wilsonville, IL, Suzie (Glen) Cole of Wilsonville, IL, Cassie (Kevin) Kline of Bethalto, IL, Rev. Stephen (Belinda) Martin of Wilsonville, IL, Stephanie (Chris) McIlory of Chicago, IL; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and three siblings, Wilburn Martin of Staunton, IL, Betty Rommerskirchen of Wilsonville, IL, Shirley Walden of Bethalto, IL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouses; son, Butch Martin; and sister, Lawanda Brewer.
Visitation services will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Life Harvest Church in Wilsonville, IL from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Funeral services will take place following the visitation on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Life Harvest Church in Wilsonville, IL. Services will be ministered by Rev. Stephen Martin and Rev. Pat Kaveny.
Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association or Autism Association.
