Death of Susan Joyce Eggebrecht

Susan Joyce Eggebrecht passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at her brother’s home in Saint Charles, MO. She was 78 years old.

She was born on September 27, 1943, in Chicago a daughter of Russell Ernest Eggebrecht and Selma Josephine (Viehweg) Sewing. With her master’s degree in social work and counseling, Susan was employed at Northwestern University in Chicago in the Psychiatry Department along with a private practice in counseling. She had a passion for travel and a love for fine arts. She was a master duplicate bridge player, another one of her passions.

Susan is survived by two brothers, Russell (Sandy) Eggebrecht of St. Charles, MO and Robert (Miki) Eggebrecht of Plano, TX; sister in law, Cindy Bellovich of Staunton; and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tony Bellovich.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Union Miners Cemetery in Mt. Olive. Becker and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donations can be made to American Cancer Society in support of ovarian cancer research.

Death of Michael Joe Stewart

Michael Joe Stewart, 69 of Benld, passed away at his residence in Benld on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 5:30 a.m. He was born on February 22, 1955, in Staunton to Jack Stewart and Pauline (Montgomery) Stewart.

He married Terri Tomso on November 12, 2000, in Gatlinburg, TN. He worked for the railway. He was a lover of his family and friends, his music, cooking, and was a man of faith. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles’ and Cardinals’ fan.

He is survived by his wife, Terri Stewart of Benld; daughter, Jennifer Jo Stewart of Gillespie; grandson, Nicholas Joseph Willis of Repentigny, Quebec, Canada; bbrother, Jim Stewart Livingston; two sisters, Patti Hicken of Mt. Olive and Bonnie Stewart of Gillespie; mother-in-law, Norma Tomso of Mt. Olive; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dale Stewart and Wayne Stewart; step mom, Lois Stewart; father-in-law, Ted Tomso; and niece, Layla Stewart.

Friends may call on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Memorial services are on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 6:30 PM at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie with Derrick Taylor officiating.

Memorials are suggested to Gillespie Caring Center and Benld Adopt-A-Pet. Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie is in charge of the arrangements.

Death of Betty Jean Craddick

Betty Jean Craddick, 88, of Benld, died at her residence on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 9:10 am. She was born June 7, 1936, in Gillespie, to Jeanie Steed. She married Harry Craddick on September 25, 1954, at the Gillespie Methodist Church.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed anything involving her family, especially doting on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Harry Craddick, her two sons, David (Betty Lynn) Craddick of Litchfield, and Robert (Anna) Craddick of O’Fallon, grandchildren, Jennifer Spitznagel of Litchfield, Michael (Tanya) Craddick of Glen Carbon, Bradley (Rachael) Craddick of Edwardsville, Timothy Craddick of O’Fallon, Michelle (Derek) Petrich of O’Fallon, Lindsay Craddick of O’Fallon, and Jennifer (Alex) Scherschel of Richmond, VA, great-grandchildren, Tanner (Samantha) Roeske of Litchfield, Casey Roeske of Litchfield, Hailey Robbins of Litchfield, Christina Craddick of Glen Carbon, Nora Craddick of Edwardsville, and Graham Petrich of O’Fallon, great-great-grandchildren, Cruze and Jami Roeske of Litchfield, and other extended family.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanie Steed; her brother, Jim Steed, sister, Gladys O’Connell; and great-grandchild Angelina Craddick.

Friends may call on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld from 9:30 am until 12:00 noon.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at noon at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld, IL. Burial will be in Benld City Cemetery in Benld. Death of Kenneth M. Beerup

Kenneth M. Beerup, 73, of Bunker Hill, died at his residence on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was born on July 29, 1950, in Jacksonville, to Audie Beerup and Imogene Pitchford Beerup. He married Gala Danette Kruemmelbein Beerup on January 14, 1969, in Carlinville. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2016.

He was a retired CPA. He was a veteran of the US Air Force after having served during Vietnam. Keith enjoyed traveling, reading, hunting, and spending time with friends.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth “Marty” (Patricia) Beerup of Seminole, FL, grandchild, Bryce Ray of Seminole, FL; brother, Audie “Butch” (Karen) Beerup of Paragould, AR; and sister, Susan (Jack) Hurst of Bunker Hill. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, and daughter, Joey Kenna.
