Gillespie church hosting bible school June 24-28
Come to the 2024 Food Truck Party Vacation Bible School to be held June 24 to June 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Gillespie Methodist Church, 900 West Broadway Street, Gillespie.
All kids entering kindergarten through 6th grade are welcome to register. There is no cost.
Please register online as soon as possible to reserve your spot at http://gillespiemethodistchurch.mycokesburyvbs.com/.
Online registration is strongly encouraged but we will register kids that day if necessary.

The Village of Eagarville is once again hosting its annual Mrs. Claus Sweets & Treats Shoppe. Please join us on December 14, 2024, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for our holiday treat shop.
Stop by the DeStefane Civic Center in Benld and pick up delicious homemade baked treats and candies just in time for Christmas. There will also be some amazing vendors with handmade, unique, and fun items. The Eagarville Elves will be serving hot chocolate while you pick up some festive treats, mouthwatering gifts, and confectionery goodness.
You can even have lunch while your kiddos visit with Mrs. Claus & write letters to Santa.

SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Doris Turner is partnering with HyVee, Meridian, Youth Care, and Health Choice Illinois to host a turkey giveaway on Friday, Nov. 22 in Springfield.
“I value the importance of giving back to my community during the holidays,” said Turner (D-Springfield). “Nothing makes me happier than providing a little more security in the form of a warm meal to those who need it most this season. Events like these truly showcase the spirit of the holiday season”.
The giveaway will be held at the Greater All Nation Tabernacle located on 1000 S. 19th St. in Springfield on Friday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. while supplies last. One turkey will be provided per household. ID is required to differentiate households per car.

A free appreciation dinner for all local veterans will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, sponsored by and held at The Wilsonville Progressive Club.
At this annual dinner, the TWPClub doors will open at 2 p.m. and the 21-Gun Salute & Taps Ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. Dinner will follow the ceremony starting at 3 p.m. where everyone will join together honor our veterans.
All local veterans are invited to attend this free catered event.
