Harry and Patricia (Komor) Weller are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2015. The couple were married at St. Mary’s Church in Litchfield on June 26, 1965.

Harry is retired after working 30 years at Monterey Coal. They now enjoy gardening and traveling. They are the proud parents of two children; Cheri Weller and the late Jeannie Riemenschneider.

The couple’s family ask their friends to join them at an open house to honor the couple. The celebration will be held Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the Holy Family Parish Center located at 211 East Columbia Street in Litchfield from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The family requests no gifts.

Blevins to celebrate 65th wedding anniversary on July 14

Wayne and Doris Blevins of Dorchester will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on
Sunday, July 14. Friends are invited to an open house from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the
Dorchester Methodist Church annex.

The couple was married July 14, 1959 in Augusta, Georgia at Trinity On The Hill
Methodist Church near Ft. Gordon, Georgia by Rev. Wallace Ziegler. Doris Blevins is
the former Doris Nitz.

The couple have three children, Wayne Jr. of Carlinville; Kristina (Kevin McCosh) of
Bonner Springs, Kansas, and Valerie (John Anderson) of Shawnee, Kansas; two
granddaughters, Stacy (Carter) Kenyon of Apopka, Florida, and Amber (Jason) Janiak of
Riverton, Illinois; two grandsons, Aaron of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Gage of Tampa, Fl;
and seven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Cole and Ella Grace Kenyon; Logan Janiak,
Ava Grice, and Kyle and Sadie Claire Blevins.

Wayne retired in 1998 from Laclede Steel Company in Alton, where he worked over 35
years as a pipe-fitter. After his retirement from Laclede Steel, he worked in the
Purchasing Department at Carlinville Area Hospital until 2011.

Doris worked 12 years for Heyen Implement Company in Dorchester. She is a
homemaker and for many years was a volunteer at Gillespie Community School District
Unit #7.

Wayne and Doris are active in their community and are members of the Dorchester
United Methodist Church and invite you to weekly 8:15 Sunday morning services.

Karyn Smith engaged to marry Norman Mears

Gary and Frances Smith of Gillespie announce the engagement of their daughter, Karyn Gail Smith, to Norman Ray Mears both of Decatur.  

The prospective groom is the son of Vic and Deborah Myles and the late Dale Mears of Decatur.

The bride-to-be is attending Millikin University, where she will receive her Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology.  

The prospective groom is a graduate of Millikin University, where he received his Bachelors in Science in Organizational Leadership.  They both are employed at Crossing Healthcare in Decatur.

They plan to marry in June at Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville.
