Janet was born on February 26, 1949, in Eldorado, Illinois, to Edward Leander Baugher Jr. and Annie Elizabeth Kelly. She grew up in Eldorado, where she attended South Street Baptist Church and was baptized at a young age. A 1967 graduate of Eldorado High School, Janet began her career shortly after by working for a loan company in Nashville, Tennessee. She retired in 2010 alongside her husband, Jeffrey Alexander Davis Sr.
Janet married Jeff on December 21, 1990, in Hillsboro, and together they made their home of 35 years in Litchfield. She will be remembered for her love of reading, crocheting, listening to wind chimes, and watching old movies, but most of all, for the time she spent with her family. Her caring spirit and contagious smile touched everyone who knew her.
