MONDAY, APRIL 30, 2012

Officer took a report from a male subject who said that the female that was told not to have any contact with him was beating on his door.  Since she was gone when the officer arrived, he called her and advised her that the male and his sister did not want her to contact them in any way.  If she continued to call or come back, charges would be filed.

TUESDAY, MAY 1, 2012

Tiffany M. Hausman-Corbin, 19, Gillespie; William C. Corbin III, 21, Gillespie and Eric M. Cunningham, 23, Gillespie were all cited for trespassing after being told not to be standing around on main street.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 2, 2012

Officer was called to the 100 block of Green St. where a female returned home and found that the walk in door to the garage, looked like someone tried to kick it in. She requested extra patrol around her residence.

Officer was called to the 300 block of Fillmore to remove a male subject who was banging on the door to the residence..  When the officer arrived, the complainant advised that he did not want the subject at his residence.  The male subject left without any problems but was told he would be charged with trespassing if he returned.

THURSDAY, MAY 3, 2012

Officer was called to the 100 block of Francis St. to take a report of someone damaging two rear tires of a vehicle.  This happened sometime during the night while the vehicle was parked in the driveway.

Officer was called to the 500 block of E. Pine to take a burglary report. They were missing several items out of the garage which most of the items missing were tools.  This case is under investigation.

Officer was called to the intersection of Easton and Fillmore where a male subject was stumbling all over the roadway, assisted by two other individuals.. The male subject was unresponsive but breathing when the officer arrived.  An ambulance was called and he was transported to a hospital.  The minor, age 17, Gillespie was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

FRIDAY, MAY 4, 2012

Jorda L. Claro, 25, Gillespie was arrested driving while license suspended, no front registration plate and having no insurance.  She was, also charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer was called to the high school parking lot for two vehicles driving reckless.  A 17 year old male from Gillespie and a 16 year old from Mt. Clare was cited for disorderly conduct under local ordinances.

Jonathan W. Tesio, 43, Gillespie was cited for driving without lights when required.

John S. Tallman Jr., 20, Gillespie was cited for failure to wear a seat belt.  He posted bond and was released.

SATURDAY, MAY 5, 2012

Linn D. Fullington, 40, Gillespie was cited for driving without insurance.  She posted her drivers license as bond and was released.

Officer was called to the 200 block of W.. Oak to take a report from a male subject who had his back license plate with a 2013 sticker on it taken during the night.

SUNDAY, MAY 6, 2012

Officers were called to a parking lot in the 100 block of N. Macoupin for people causing a disturbance.  One male subject started calling one of the officer’s names and threatening the officer.  He fell while pulling away from the officers and was transported to a hospital by an ambulance.  John J. Sanders, 38, Benld was advised, that he will be charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer.

Officer took a report from a male subject who said his son was bitten by a dog and fell of his bike in the 200 block of Jersey St.  The child was taken to a hospital for the injuries.  The owner of the dog, Shawn Swank, 38, Gillespie was cited for dog running at large and failure to inoculate for rabies.  Macoupin County Animal Control officer came and took the dog to the dog pound.

Danielle M. Morris, 26, Gillespie was arrested on a warrant out of Macoupin County for Failure to appear on a speeding citation.  She was, also cited for failure to wear seat belt.  She posted bond and was released.

An officer initiated a traffic stop at Central Ave and Kentucky Street in Benld. Dawson J. Clark, 18 of Benld, was issued citations for improper lane usage and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

He also had a warrant out of Macoupin County for failure to appear for possession of methamphetamine.

Gillespie man receives 10 year sentence for meth delivery

Macoupin County State’s Attorney Jordan Garrison announced that Dennis Roeske, 33, of Gillespie, was sentenced to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for methamphetamine delivery, a class X felony. This marks the second consecutive week in which Judge Joshua A. Meyer has ordered a ten-year sentence in the county.

The case stemmed from an incident on July 19, 2024, in Staunton. Roeske was stopped by Sgt. Justin Frankford for not having a front license plate and for speeding. During the traffic stop, Roeske threw a bag from his vehicle, which was later recovered by authorities. The substance inside was analyzed and found to include nearly 30 grams of methamphetamine and 6 grams of fentanyl. Investigations revealed that Roeske had traveled to Missouri to purchase the drugs, which he admitted he intended to sell in Macoupin County.

During the sentencing hearing, Judge Meyer emphasized the broader impact of Roeske’s actions, noting that such crimes harm not only the individual but also their families, friends, and the community at large by fueling addiction and criminal activity. The judge stressed the importance of deterring such offenses to protect the community.

Garrison commended the law enforcement agencies involved, stating, “The work of law enforcement in Macoupin County has resulted in approximately 60 cases sent to prison this year. I especially want to thank Sgt. Frankford and the South Central Illinois Drug Task Force for their continued efforts in combating the flow of meth in our county.”
