LAWSUITS
John M. Lutz has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Jeremy and Malissa Miller, Girard, seeking $1,490 in alleged past due rent, plus possession of residential premises located in the 300 block of West South Street in Girard.
Michael J. LaRosa has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Brandon and Shannon Miller, Staunton, seeking $1,975 in alleged back rent, plus possession of residential premises located in the 200 block of East Macoupin Street in Staunton.
Tim Loveless, Gillespie, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Timothy D. Campbell, Wilsonville, seeking $2,748 in alleged past due rent, plus court costs and possession of residential premises located in the 100 block of School Street in Wilsonville.
Tim Loveless, Gillespie, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Breann Morell, Gillespie, seeking $1,318 in alleged past due rent, plus court costs and possession of residential premises located in the 300 block of South Street in Gillespie.
Jeffrey Land has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Allyson Jones, Mount Olive, seeking possession of premises located in the 600 block of East Third Street in Mount Olive.
Central Illinois Realty Co has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Gary and Jerri Edgington, Virden, seeking $945 in alleged past due rent, plus $872 in court costs and possession of premises located in the Whispering Pines mobile home court in Virden.
Madonna R. Tideman, doing business as MRT Investments, LLC, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Anna Semar, Carlinville, seeking $2,171 for past due rent and property damage, plus possession of residential premises located in the 1000 block of Johnson Street in Carlinville.
Brian and Linda Venrick have filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Tina Czerinask, Virden, seeking $2,240 in alleged past due rent, plus possession of residential premises located in the 300 block of South Church Street in Virden.
SMALL CLAIMS
World’s Foremost Bank is suing Rosa Staats, Bunker Hill, for $8,696.49, plus court costs, allegedly owed on a defaulted credit card account.
American Builders and Contractors Supply Co., Inc., is suing James L. Kroeschel, Chesterfield, individually and doing business as Jim Kroeschel Builing and Remodeling, for $6,221.75 allegedly owed for building materials purchased on credit, plus $439.01 in interest, $350 in attorney fees and any additional interest and court costs that have accrued by the time of judgment.
Tower Loan of Illinois, Springfield, is suing Kimberly McKinney, Virden, for $1,001, plus interest and court costs, allegedly owed on a defaulted $1,206.2- promissory note executed in July 2015.
FELONIES
Kristy A. Smith, 39, Wood River, is charged with possession of a controlled substance in connection with a June 25 incident in Bunker Hill during which she allegedly possessed less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine.
In separate complaints, Erin Mull, 34, Carlinville, is charged with two counts of forgery and one count of deceptive practice. Mull is accused of forging the signature of a checking account owner on two checks totaling $220.01 and made payable to Bill’s IGA in Staunton on May 13 and 14. She also is accused of passing the checks at Bill’s IGA while knowing they would not be honored by the bank. Additionally, Mull is accused of forging the signature of a checking account owner on a check for $120.47 and made payable to Short Stop, Bunker Hill, on May 13.
Jeremy Smith, 21, Alton, is charged with possession of a controlled substance in connection with an April 12 incident in Macoupin County.
Jacob A. Burker, 29, Carlinville, is charged with residential burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle in connection with a June 28 incident during which he allegedly made unauthorized entry to a residence in rural Virden with the intent to commit a theft. Burke also is accused of being in possession of a 1999 GMC pickup truck while knowing the vehicle to be stolen.
MISDEMEANORS
David A. Zenner, 57, Mount Olive, is charged with domestic battery in connection with a June 27 incident in Mount Olive during which he allegedly forcibly pushed his son.
Shannon M. Coleman, 31, Girard, is charged with resisting a peace officer in connection with a June 26 incident in Carlinville.
Samantha C. Kennedy, 19, Berlin, is charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 in connection with a June 24 incident in Girard.
Shylo Z. Henry, 19, Waverly, is charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 in connection with a June 24 incident in Girard.
David A. Thorne, 59, Gillespie, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with an April 1 incident in Gillespie during which he allegedly possessed a blue metal smoking device for inhaling cannabis.
Donald L. Mitchell, 49, Girard, is charged with battery in connection with a June 26 incident during which he allegedly struck another male in the face with his hand.
Danny L. Shaw, 55, is charged with violating an owner’s duties in connection with a June 10 incident during which he allegedly was discovered to have six raccoons in captivity without provide humane care or treatment for them. In connection with the same incident, Shaw faces conservation citations for allegedly trapping furbearing mammals without proper licensing or permits, breeding furbearing mammals without a permit, and retaining a live protected species.
Jeffrey L. Fraley, 41, Benld, is charged with battery and criminal damage to property in connection with a June 24 incident in Benld during which he allegedly slapped another male in the face with his hand and caused less than $300 in damage to a cell phone belonging to the victim.
Jamie L. Soban, 22, Mauston, Wisconsin, is charged with battery in connection with a June 24 incident in Benld during which she allegedly kicked a male subject in his groin.
TRAFFIC
Stanley Ross Pearson, 24, Wood River, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a June 24 incident on Fosterburg Road about a mile south of of Brighton-Bunker Hill Road. Additionally, he faces traffic charges for alleged improper lane use and for allegedly failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failing to report an accident involving property damage to police and leaving the scene of an accident.
Margaret E. Roth, 22, St. Louis, Mo., is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a June 26 incident on Interstate 55 near mile marker 47.5. Roth also faces traffic charges for alleged improper lane use, using a cell phone while driving, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, driving below the minimum required speed and driving the wrong way through the median.
Craig A. Iberg, 55, Mahomet, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a June 26 incident in the southbound lanes of Interstate 55 near mile marker 43. In addition, Iberg faces traffic charges for alleged illegal transportation of alcohol, and for allegedly making an improper turn signal and operating his Harley-Davidson motorcycle at speeds of one to 10 miles per hour in excess of the posted speed limit.
Ryan A. Moore, 28, Bunker Hill, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a June 26 incident in Bunker Hill. Moore also faces a traffic charge for allegedly operating a motor vehicle with an excessively loud muffler.
Christopher S. McAllister, 32, Virden, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a June 25 incident on Snells Road at Lead Line Road. McAllister also was issued a traffic citation for allegedly operating a vehicle with no light for the rear registration plate.
Micah J. Ramsey, 30, Plainview, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a June 25 incident on Second Road at Stagecoach Road. Ramsay also was issued a traffic citation for alleged improper parking on a roadway.
Robert S. Ryan, 35, Highland, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a July 1 incident in Staunton. Ryan also faces two counts of disregarding a stop sign and one count each of driving on a revoked driver’s license and leaving the scene of an accident.

Macoupin County Clerk, Recorder & Elections Office temporarily relocating due to courthouse renovations

The Macoupin County Clerk, Recorder, and Elections Office will temporarily relocate across the street to the Macoupin County Voting Center, located at 227 E. First South in Carlinville, beginning Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The move is necessary to accommodate HVAC system renovations in the Macoupin County Courthouse. The temporary relocation is expected to last until mid-January 2026.
During this time, all regular services — including vital records, recordings, elections, and general clerk functions — will continue to be available at the Voting Center. Office hours and contact information will remain the same.
However, due to limited space during the renovation, public searching and certain in-person services may be restricted. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the many online services offered through the Clerk’s website, including:
- Searching and ordering vital records
- Accessing property and land records
- Viewing election information and forms
- Checking registration and voter status
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we make these necessary improvements to the Courthouse,” said Macoupin County Clerk Pete Duncan. “Our goal is to continue serving the public efficiently and safely, whether in person or online.”
