In an effort to try and bring healthier food to the community, Ageless will continue its weekly Farmer’s Market today, July 15 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. The market launched last week with only one vendor selling their products to the community.
Over 50 people turned out last week forming a line before the sole vendor even setup their table. By 5:00pm, the vendor had a very limited selection available to residents of the community. The vendor even packed up and went home early after selling out of everything.
This week, Ageless is expecting anywhere between 1 and 4 vendors. The new vendors this week could be Broom’s Orchard and Genece Hamby. Dale Jett, the sole vendor from last week, will make his return as well hoping to please just as many customers as last week.
Even though the market is typically smaller than other markets around, it is one of the many steps Ageless has in store to “healify” the community. The market brags high quality, local grown produce citizens can get right in the heart of downtown Gillespie just steps off of Macoupin Street.
The market will again take place on the east side of the Ageless parking lot near the road. The vendors will be open from business from 3-6pm, or until they sell out of their merchandise of course. If you have any questions about the event, contact Ageless at 839-2484.
If you are looking to jump start your fitness journey, stop in at Ageless and one of the friendly staff members will let you know where to begin.
One of Ageless’ most popular events will be taking place July 20 at dusk and nearly 100 people have already preregistered for the event. If you don’t know, the GloRun will be taking place Saturday evening and there is still plenty of time to sign up. To register for the race, stop in at Ageless, register online, or register before the race at Ageless.
