Robin R. Napier, 65 of Sawyerville, passed away in Mt. Olive on Thursday, April 9, 2026.  She was born on April 8, 1961, in Saint Louis, MO to Robert Pearia and Margrette Adams Blake.  

She was a photographer for Olin Mills. Robin was an avid artist, animal lover, and loved music.

She is survived by her mother and step father, Margrette and Larry Blake of Mt. Olive; daughters, Fallon (spouse, Kyle Hofer) Napier of Staunton and Cheyenne (Bryan) Grieshaber of Bethalto; grandsons, Kolin, Benny, and Harrison; sisters, Tracy (Brian) Carlson of Pocahontas and Karrie Scheller of Mt. Olive; brother, Jason Werner of Mt. Olive; aunt, Audrey Shrum of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews; and companion, Justin Waggener of Sawyerville.

Robin was preceded in death by her father; brother, Mike Blake; and nephew, Nick Blake Fischer.  

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Funeral services are Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie.  Memorials are suggested to National Kidney Foundation.

Deborah Helen Daugherty, 69 of Carlinville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by family who cherished her.

Deb was born on November 15, 1956, in Carlinville the daughter of Louis H. Daugherty and Maxine Bettis Daugherty. She graduated from Carlinville High School with the Class of 1974 and went on to attend Blackburn College. Carlinville was always home to Deb — a place where she built lifelong friendships and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Deb was known for her strong work ethic, dedication, and kindness. She began her career as a bookkeeper at Loveless Pontiac Dealership and later at Bates Motor Company, both in Carlinville. She later continued her professional journey as a software support technician at Karmak, where she was respected for her reliability, patience, and willingness to help others.

While Deb worked hard, she truly lived life through her many passions and connections with others. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and The Women of the Moose. Deb also found joy in music and community, sharing her talents as a trumpet player in the Carlinville Municipal Band and as a member of the Carlinville United Methodist Church bell choir. She loved the camaraderie of bowling and was a member of the Carlinville Women’s Bowling Association. Whether through music, laughter, or quiet conversation, Deb had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued.

Above all, Deb loved her family and friends. She treasured time spent together, sharing stories, celebrating milestones, and creating memories filled with laughter and warmth. Deb found joy in driving local queens in numerous community parades in her convertible. While, Deb did not have children of her own. Her many cats were her babies and the love of her life. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Louis E. “Louie” Daugherty; her nephews, Steven Daugherty and Frank W. Hanselman; and many beloved family members and friends who welcomed her home.

She is survived by her loving niece, Elizabeth “Beth” Hanselman of Springfield; great-niece, Laura (Camdin) Morris of Raymond; great-nephew, Jevon Thomas; great-great-nieces, Wrenlee Morris and Brenlee Morris; great-great-nephew, Andersin Travis Morris; sister-in-law, Lea Daugherty of Springfield; sister, Kay King Thomas; cousins, L.T. (Brandi Chism) Krone of Carlinville, Norman Campbell of South Carolina, Susan, (Randy) Rose of Gillespie, Agnes, (Ralph) Knetzer of Gillespie, Karol (Jim) Kaufman of Moro, George (Becky) Campbell of Marysville, MO, Michael Campbell of Fayetteville, AR, Ada (Ralph) Peterson of Carlinville, Jim (Barb) Daugherty of Gillespie, John Daugherty of Quad Cities, Mike (Pat) McKeethan of Saint Charles, MO, Lois Teich of Duluth, MN, Emily Lind of Prior Lake, MN, and many extended family members and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Roads Church in Carlinville. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Roads Church in Carlinville. Burial will follow at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville.

Memorials may be made to the Macoupin County Animal Shelter or the Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled, causes close to Deb’s heart.

Deb’s life was one of kindness, dedication, and quiet generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of love, music, laughter, and friendship that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Carole Joyce Bolton Hess went to the Lord on March 30, 2026 peacefully at her home on her sister’s birthday. She was 91. Carole Joyce Bolton Hess was born on February 2, 1935, Groundhog Day. Her parents were Warren Byron Bolton and Harriet Winona Cresse Bolton.  

Carole was in her mother’s womb when her older brother Warren Byron Bolton Jr. passed on at the age of five. She was preceded in passing by both parents; an older sister, Marlene JoAnne Bolton Anderson; an older brother, Norvin Cresse Bolton; a younger brother, William Richardson Stone Bolton; and her ex husband, August Horst Hess.  

Carole is survived by three younger sisters, Nancy Jean Bolton, age 90, Sharon Jill Bolton Bishop, age 82, and Bonnie June Bolton Martin, age 72; and a younger brother H.A. Bolton, age 80.  Carole’s oldest son is Joseph Warren Horst Hess, age 58, who is married to Tonya Mishler Hess.  Their two children are Brayden Alexander Mishler Hess, age 17, and Sadie Elizabeth Mishler Hess, age 16. These are Carole’s biological grandchildren.  Joseph also has a stepson Jarvis Mishler, that Carole called her grandson.  Carole’s second son is Wilhelm Michael Hans Hess and is 56 years old.  He is married to Niurka Hess. Carole’s third son is Peter Rienhold Harry Hess and is 53 years old. He is married to Laura Hess. Carole had a lasting impact on her surviving seventeen nieces and nephews. She also had a myriad of great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew.  

Carole grew up in the Chicago suburb of Lombard, IL.  She attended Lincoln Elementary and Junior High and Glenbard High School in Glen Ellyn, IL. After high school, Carole worked at various jobs and met her future husband, August Hess, while they were working at a factory in Addison, IL.  After their marriage on April 3, 1965, Carole and “Augie” settled on a small acreage with a small pond and large garden in South Lombard.  

As her boys were growing up she worked as a school crossing guard. After the boys grew up, Carole worked as an aide on a special services bus for elementary students. Carole was a very creative person and was very original in her creations. She made so many items for so many people over the years and all were so unique and suited for the person she made it for.  

Carole had a great love of all kinds of animals except inchworms. She loved watching them, loved the ducks, chickens and always had dogs. When she moved to her niece’s farm about ten years ago, Carole was able to enjoy watching horses, donkeys, goats, a couple cows, various fowl, chickens, ducks and peacocks. It kept her entertained especially when animals escaped their acres and wondered about.  

Most of all Carole loved children and children loved Carole because she was fun, adventurous and definitely unique.  We all miss you already and love you!
