Gweneth Mae Molinar, 90, of Benld, IL, formerly of Wilsonville, died at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at 5:37 p.m. She was born on December 16, 1924, in Wilsonville, IL to Edward John Jones and Gwendolyn (Thomas) Jones. She married the late Martin Molinar on November 11, 1944, in Wilsonville.
She was a homemaker and worked at the Roller Derby as an assembler for 26 years. Gweneth was a member of the St. Joseph’s Parish and St. Joseph’s Altar & Rosary.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Husband: Rob) Wiersma Wurster of Englewood, FL, Jeanne (Husband: Joe “Shiek”) Chiarodo of Benld, IL; granddaughter, Jennifer (Darrin) Parker; three grandsons, Martin (Tiffany) Chiarodo, Andrew (Sara) Wiersma, Tony (Amy) Wiersma; nine great-grandchildren, Zachary Parker, Haley Parker, Abby Parker, Riley Wiersma, Cameron Wiersma, Kirstin McGee, Hannah McGee, Joseph Chiarodo, Nicholas Chiarodo; Brother, James Jones of Wilsonville, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
Gweneth was preceded in death by her father, Edward John Jones; mother, Gwendolyn Jones; husband, Martin Molinar; son-in-law, John Wiersma; two sisters, Gladys Molinar, Ruth Williams; and two brothers, Edward Jones and William “Buck” Jones.
Visitation services will be on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Benld, IL with burial at the Benld Cemetery in Benld, IL.
Memorials are suggested to Partnership for Educational Excellence (Unit School District 7) or to the Benld Cemetery.
