James L. “Jeep” Taylor, 69, of Gillespie, IL died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 5:45 am at Carlinville Area Hospital, Carlinville, IL. James was born on November 3, 1942, in Litchfield, IL to James Taylor & Margaret (Hollis) Taylor.
He married Charlene (Sobberi) Taylor on May 5, 1962, Bunker Hill, IL and was a retired marketing director for Commercial Heating A/C. He was a member of Unit District 7 School Board for 12 years and served as president of the school board during his time.
James is survived by his spouse: Charlene Taylor of Gillespie, IL, sons: James Taylor of Melbourne, FL, Richard (Karen) Taylor of Coral Springs, FL, Andrew Taylor of Gillespie, IL, daughters: Amy Weir of Chatham, IL, Jennifer (Andrew) Burns of Edwardsville, IL, grandchildren: Tayler Weir, Caleb Peterson, Troy Weir, Anthony Taylor, Alex Taylor, Tanner Weir, Annabel Taylor, Riley Burns, Parker Burns, Brother, Jack Wilson of Gillespie, IL, and sisters: Judith Cunningham of Alton, IL, Sandy Szkutnik of Springfield, IL.
Other than his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother Andrew Wilson.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at SS Simon & Jude Church, Gillespie from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
Memorial Mass is scheduled to take place Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 11am at SS Simon and Jude Church in Gillespie, IL. Monsignor Larry Auda will be ministering the service. Memorials can be made out to the Partnership for Educational Excellence District 7.
