Norma Jean Franke, 89, of Staunton, passed away at 11:05 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Community Hospital of Staunton. She was born October 4, 1934, in Bunker Hill, the daughter of the late Emil and Christina (Dubbelde) Johnson. She married Edwin E. Franke on April 27, 1957, in Carpenter, and he passed away on October 22, 2011.
Norma worked at The Gardens Restaurant in Litchfield, for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton and enjoyed her flowers, shopping with her daughters, playing Euchre, and watching game shows on TV.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty (Ron) Everly of Port Byron, Jenelle Franke (Jeff Yarnik) of Staunton; son-in-law, John Nathan of Staunton; six grandchildren, Rebecca (Doug) Looney, Mallory (Danny) Scroggins, Chelsa (Cody) Krech, Alyssa Everley, Broc (Savanya) Everley, and Joshua Franke; nine great-grandchildren, Owen, Evan, Greyson, Adalyn, Camden, Keegan, Cody, Callahan, and Rivers; three sisters-in-law, Faye Buffington, Wilma Franke, and Judy Franke; several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Nathan.
Friends may call from 10 AM to 12 noon on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, with Rev. Phil Girardin officiating. Burial will follow at Prairietown Cemetery in Prairietown.
