Death of Ralph Eugene Roach, Sr.
Ralph Eugene Roach, Sr., 73, of “Hornsby”, Litchfield, IL died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 11:19 pm at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL. Ralph was born on June 2, 1938, in Litchfield, IL to William Roach and Lillie (Fredericks) Roach.
He married Beverley (Little) Roach on November 3, 1961 in the South Baptist Church in Litchfield, IL. He worked for Wepco, International Papers, Road Construction in Springfield and Litchfield, Security Guard at Echlin, and Rural King. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, horseshoes, card games. He was a coach for the Giants in Litchfield Little League in the early 80’s.
Ralph is survived by son: Ralph E. Roach, Jr. (Spouse, Mary Sytel T. Roach) of Eagarville, IL, grandson: Sean E. Roach, brothers and sisters: Mary “Sis” Lahr of Lexington, IL, Roxie Roach of Springfield, IL, Edward Roach of Litchfield, IL, Violet Drakes of Sedrow-Wooley Valley, WA, Carol Wilson of Leaf River, IL, Samuel Roach of Litchfield, IL.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouse, brothers and sisters: William “Buddy” Roach, Harold Roach, Richard Roach, Ruby Bridgewater, Margaret Smith, Oval “Oggie” Roach, Carl Roach.
Visitation is Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11am at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie, IL. Pastor Jared DePoppe will be ministering the service. Burial of cremated remains will be at Crabtree Cemetery in Litchfield, IL. Memorials can be made out to donor’s choice.

Lois Ilaine Erspamer Sawyer, 94 of Gillespie, died at her residence on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 9:51 am. She was born on February 9, 1930, in Gillespie to Louis Poi and Bertha Annetta Sunman Poi Lewis.
She married John Peter Erspamer on September 4, 1950. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1989. She married Dempsey Sawyer on May 15, 1993, and he preceded her in death in 2016. She had been a bookkeeper for Duracraft and Daley’s Chevrolet. Lois enjoyed reading, gardening, painting, drawing, cooking, traveling, bird watching, adventures, her family and her beloved cat, Molly.
She is survived by her children, Ann (Timm) LaRoche of Gillespie, Joan (Paul) Alexander of Gillespie, and Lynn Erspamer of Litchfield; grandchildren, Shannon (David) Wright of Gillespie, Suzanne (companion, Josh) DeMartini of Madisonville, KY, Jared (Amanda) Johnson of Staunton, Adam (Ashli) Alexander of Gillespie, Travis (Laura) Mize of Dallas, TX, Britini Bernardini of Nokomis, and Marissa (Jacob) Summers of Litchfield; great grandchildren, Macie, Isabel and Alexander Wright, Joseph and Gino DeMartini, Brianna Johnson, Ansley Alexander, Lucas and Jeffrey Bernardini, Fisher, Sabrina and Gabriella Crow; great great grandchild, Dominic Joseph “DJ” DeMartini; sisters, Patricia Thompson of Carmel, IN, Phyllis Dodd of Pooler, GA, and Marion Boston of Springfield; and brothers, Ernie Lewis of Carbondale and Fred Lewis of Ft Meyers, FL.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, and brother, John Lewis.
Private services will be held. Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie is in charge of the arrangements.
