Fifth annual Build Benld craft fair to be held May 9

The 5th Annual Build Benld craft fair and flea market will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the Benld Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
With over 33 vendor spaces already reserved, there is a wide variety of things for everyone to choose from. “New this year are handmade rugs, handcrafted pottery, Plexus dealer and many more of our returning vendors from previous years,” event coordinator Norm Emmons explained.
Emmons has lived in Benld for five decades with his wife and family and since retirement, he has continued to give back to the great town that he loves. He said the Build Benld committee is out working in the community and the small town of Benld looks and feels different this spring.
“The craft fair and flea market is just one of the several events the Build Benld committee has organized to bring people to Benld,” Emmons continued. “We know this event brings a good number of people to our little town and they will want to come back again and again. We are watching the success [of the event] grow each year.”
Call Emmons at 217-835-2130 to discuss the possibility of reserving a last-minute vendor space. The Benld Civic Center is located in the center of the town along Central Avenue. Homemade foods, desserts and drinks will be available to purchase throughout the day.
