GHS Boys’ Soccer hosted a Trivia Night at the Gillespie Civic Center last Saturday. Boys’ Soccer is one of the last athletic programs at Gillespie High School that is still parent-funded. This means the program has to raise their own proceeds to support their program.

Kent Tarro, fundraiser organizer, said 100 or more turned out to support the team. 12 tables were sold prior to the event and then 2 teams showed up that night giving a total of 14 tables sold.
Mark Stewart, organizer, said about $1000 was made off the trivia night tables and 50/50 raffle. The silent auction was the more popular attraction drawing in close to $2000, according to Stewart.
“This will give our program a sufficient foundation to start our 2011 season, we would like to thank the community for their continuous contributions to our program – your financial assistance is always appreciated and acknowledged,” event organizers
