Gillespie Police Activity: April 15-20

A concerned citizen found a little boy crying at the park and brought him to the police department early in the morning.  The 4 year old had told the lady where he lived but no one was home when she took him there.  The boy told the officer that his mother was a work.  After checking and finding out who the mother was, she was called at her job and came to the police department to pick him up.  She advised that the child was dropped off at the babysitters along with a sibling before 6:00 A.M.  DCFC was contacted regarding the babysitter.

Medication was returned to a female who had, had it stolen from her residence on Saturday.

A male subject was arrested by another agency and had it in his possession.

TUESDAY, APRIL 16, 2013

A juvenile was brought to the P.D. who had a domestic with her father in the 400 block of Henry Street.  The officer brought the father to the police department and after interviewing all the family members, the juvenile returned home with her parents.  But DCFS was advised of the incident.

Officer was called to a residence in the 400 block of E. Wilson for a suicidal subject.  He was brought to the Police Dept. where Locust Street Resource Center was called and a caseworker came to the Police Dept. where the case was turned over to her.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 2013

An officer on patrol saw a truck traveling at a high rate of speed and go into a ditch at Plum and Western.  Tyler J. Ross, 21, Gillespie was arrested for improper lane usage, 2 counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, no insurance and illegal transportation of alcohol by driver.  He posted bond and was released.

THURSDAY, APRIL 18, 2013

Officer was called to the 100 block of S. Macoupin for a domestic.  The male that lives there called and said his ex-girlfriend was buzzing his door and that she took all her belongings when she left and does not have any other items at the apartment.  She was advised to go to court and make a list of items that she still has there.

FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2013

Officer took a report from a female who had her car parked in the 100 block of Park Avenue and found that someone had struck the vehicle and left the scene.

Officer took a report from a female who advised she saw her child sitting in a vehicle and not in a car seat in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of N. Macoupin.  The male subject who is the father was in the business and his girlfriend was there after she yelled for him to come to the vehicle. The child was sitting on a booster seat. The female that reported this was advised that DCFS hotline would be called and they would send someone out to investigate.

Officer was called to the Police Dept. to talk to subjects involved in a confrontation while having a child exchange.  The female advised that she is not letting the male take the child at this time because of the way he was acting. They were advised to do their child exchange inside the police department instead of doing it outside.

Officer took a report from a male who was suppose to have his children brought to the police dept. for child exchange but the mother refused to bring them.  He was advised to contact his lawyer.

SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 2013

Cole W. Law, 22, Benld was cited for improper passing at an intersection.
