
The Macoupin County Fair announced that multi-platinum country musician Josh Turner will be the headlining entertainer for the 2023 festival with his performance scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 8.
Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, March 10 at 8 a.m. and can be purchased online here. Ticket prices are $35 for the grandstand and $45 for a “big ticket”. Prices will increase by $5 on the day of the concert.
Turner has turned out nine studio albums and 17 singles since 2002, scoring his first No. 1 single — “Your Man” — in 2005 and his second — “Would You Go with Me” — in 2006. He has multiple platinum- and gold-certified albums and singles.
Southern Illinois native Drew Baldridge will open for Turner. His viral hit “She’s Somebody’s Daughter” has more than 260 million TikTok impressions and has been streamed more than 65 million times during the past year. His first studio album, “Dirt on Us,” reached No. 11 on the U.S. country chart.
The fair is scheduled to run Tuesday, June 6 through Sunday, June 12.
Tuesday’s highlights will be the twilight harness racing and Macoupin County FFA Ag Olympics, Wednesday will see the crowing of the 2023 Fair Royalty, Thursday will be focused on the headlining entertainment of Josh Turner, tractor and truck pulls will dominate Friday’s entertainment, and the fair will conclude with the demolition derby on Saturday evening.
