LLCC hosting campus visit day June 7

SPRINGFIELD — Prospective students interested in starting or restarting college or training for a new career are invited to visit Lincoln Land Community College for Campus Visit Day on Tuesday, June 7. The free event will be held at the LLCC Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, from 10 a.m.-noon. Exhibits open at 9:30 a.m.

“Whether you are in high school, wanting to start a new career or looking to start over on a college degree, we welcome you to join us for Campus Visit Day. The event will feature interactive sessions where you can explore classes and majors, and we’ll introduce you to our personalized services that help students experience college success,” says LLCC President Charlotte Warren, Ph.D.

The event provides information on how to enroll and pay for college. Visitors are invited to view exhibits and speak with LLCC representatives, tour select areas of campus and apply for admission. Refreshments will feature baked goods from LLCC Culinary Arts.

LLCC announces fall 2024 President’s and Vice President’s lists

SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College has announced its President’s and Vice President’s lists for both full-time and part-time students for the fall 2024 semester.

Students who earned a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) are noted with an asterisk and achieved President’s list honors while students who earned a GPA of 3.5-3.99 achieved Vice President’s list honors. Part-time students are enrolled in six to 11 credit hours and full-time students are enrolled in 12 or more credit hours.

Bob Price scholarship deadline is March 31

The scholarship committee is currently taking applications for the 2025 Bob Price Memorial Scholarship.  The scholarship is available to graduating high school students living in Illinois State Police District 18 counties of Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin and Montgomery.

The $1000 scholarship(s) will be awarded to qualifying students with a major in criminal justice and forensics, fire science and public safety which were Illinois State Police Msgt. Bob Price’s passions.

The deadline is March 31, 2025.

Macoupin County Agriculture Education Foundation scholarships available in 2025

Carlinville – The Macoupin County Agriculture Education (MCAE) Foundation is offering 6 – $1,000 scholarships for the upcoming 2025-26 school year to students wishing to pursue agriculture majors.

The MCAE Foundation offers scholarships to provide encouragement and financial assistance to Macoupin County residents and/or students of Macoupin County schools who display well-balanced attributes of good citizenship, commitment to activities and scholastic ability.

The applicant must be a graduating high school senior or a current college student who plans to attend or is attending an Illinois junior college, college, university or Career Technical Education (CTE) program, and majoring in agriculture.

Applications are available through your high school guidance counselor, high school agriculture instructor or the Macoupin County Farm Bureau® (MCFB®). An electronic copy of the application can be requested by contacting the MCFB® office by telephone or by email at: mcfb@gomadison.com 

All applications must be submitted to the MCFB® office by March 27, 2025.  Any questions can be directed to the MCFB® office at 217/854-2571.
