COUNTRY Financial Representative Tina Olroyd is pleased to support the Gillespie Police Department as a 2021 recipient of a COUNTRY Financial Operation Helping Heroes donation. Olroyd presented $1,500 to Detective R. Simpson at the department on November 23, 2021.
“The Gillespie Police Department has an amazing force that is always ready to respond to needs within our community,” stated Olroyd. “It’s important they have updated equipment and the supplies required to assist those in need. As a resident and business owner of this community, I’m proud to support our first responders and help ensure they are prepared for their next call.
The Gillespie Police Department has been wanting to purchase new radios for a while. The radios will help increase communication, improve voice quality, and enhance network security. All these positive changes will allow the Department to better serve the community.
“The plan is to use this donation to contribute to the large radio purchase we have planned,” said Simpson. “I know this will be helpful with that goal.”
COUNTRY Financial has donated more than $4 million since 2020 to organizations and programs that support teachers, first responders and active-duty service members, supporting the company’s vision to “enrich lives in the communities we serve.” The Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support non-profit events and programs that benefit active-duty service members, veterans and their families. Later, the program expanded to include first responders and teachers.
