LAWSUITS
Megan Leitschuh has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Haley and Craig Bartholowmew, Staunton, seeking two months of unpaid rent and plumbing repairs for a combined amount of $2,600.00, plus possession of residential premises located in the 100 block of South Easton Street, Staunton.
Doran Hampson, Staunton, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Elizabeth Wicklund, Staunton, seeking possession of a residential property located in the 500 block of West Mill Street, Staunton.
Alma Cook, Benld, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Terry Stoops, Benld, seeking unpaid rent of $1,100, plus court costs, and possession of a residential property located in the 600 block of North 4th Street, Benld.
SMALL CLAIMS
Midland Funding LLC is suing Brandy Augustine, Staunton, for $2,920.34, plus court costs, the plaintiff alleges is owed on a defaulted Synchrony Bank/Amazon credit card.

Ferdinand Girardi, Benld, is suing Lori Conlee, Wilsonville, for $5,000 the plaintiff claims is owed for damage the defendant allegedly caused to his Geo Tracker vehicle.
Mike McDonnald, Girard, is suing Ron Smith, Thayer, for $3,723.02 comprised of $245 to replace broken windows, $1,542.02 for roofing supplies, $1,093.00 for roofing shingles, $47 for sheriff fees, $136 in court costs, and $660 for two days of missed of work to file and attend court.
Synchrony Bank is suing Brett Behl, Shipman, for $2,252.21, plus court costs, the plaintiff claims is owed on a defaulted PayPal Smart Connect credit account.
The Village of Palmyra is suing Dylan Curtis, Jacksonville, for $1,900.00, the cost of sending Curtis to the police academy, plus court costs, the plaintiff claims is owed for breach of a March 2016 contract after Curtis and the Village signed a contract that Curtis would complete two years of work at the Village of Palmyra Police Department upon graduating from the Police Academy, but allegedly failed to do so.
FELONIES
Tabitha Harbaugh, 28, Carlinville, is charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine in connection with a March 8 incident in Carlinville.
Cory Stoops, 27, Bunker Hill, is charged with aggravated battery, criminal damage to government supported property, and disorderly conduct in connection with a June 1 incident in Bunker Hill when he pushed a sheriff’s deputy, damaged the rear door and rear window of the deputy’s squad car, and kicked the door and put a hole in the wall of a residence in Bunker Hill.
Curtis Faust, 19, St. Charles, MO, is charged with unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon and unlawful possession of methamphetamine in connection with a February 17 incident in Staunton.
Alphonso Anderson Jr., 21, Carlinville, is charged with theft in connection with a May 24 incident in Carlinville when he stole less than $500 of cash from another male. The charge was elevated to a felony due to having a prior conviction for burglary in 2018.
Matthew Konneker, 36, Carlinville, is charged with criminal damage to state-supported property in connection with a May 29 incident in Carlinville when he caused less than $500 in damage to a culvert in Bird Township.
MISDEMEANORS
Kathryn Lott, 37, Carlinville, is charged with violation of an order in connection with a May 24 incident in Carlinville when she went within 500 feet of a protected party.
Dylan Bennett, 18, Atwater, is charged with retail theft in connection with a May 17 incident in Carlinville when he stole a bottle of Dust-Off from WalMart.
Rebecca Loker, 38, Alton, is charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a May 24 incident at the Macoupin County Courthouse in Carlinville after disturbing the peace by yelling obscene language and mimicked firing a gun at an attorney.
Dennis Brown, 52, Carlinville, is charged with theft in connection with a May 29 incident in Carlinville when he stole $440 from a female.
Kari Katuramu, 35, White City, is charged with domestic battery in connection with a May 30 incident when she struck her mother in the face with her fist.
Mathew Konneker, 36, Carlinville, is charged with four counts of deceptive practice in connection with writing four checks to Mt. Olive Enterprises, doing business as Mt. Olive Clark, between September 16, 2016, and September 18, 2016, totaling $145.73 knowing the checks would not be paid by the depository.
Jessica Bishop, 38, Carlinville, is charged with two counts of deceptive practice in connection with writing two checks to Joseph F. Boente & Sons, Carlinville on February 19 and March 20, 2018, totaling $265.85 knowing the checks would not be paid by the depository.
Breann Werner, 25, Mt. Olive, is charged with four counts of deceptive practice in connection with writing two checks to the Work Place Pub, Gillespie on February 17 and 19, 2017, totaling $200 and two checks to Mt. Olive Enterprises, doing business as Mt. Olive Clark, on March 2, 2017, totaling $23.94 knowing the checks would not be paid by the depository.
Janet Cartwright, 55, Eagerville, is charged with deceptive practice in connection with writing a check to Randy’s Market, Benld on November 10, 2017, totaling $38.57 knowing the check would not be paid by the depository.
Teresa Buzick, 62, Mount Olive, is charged with deceptive practice in connection with writing a check to Mt. Olive Enterprises, doing business as Mt. Olive Clark, on October 12, 2017, totaling $18.94 knowing the check would not be paid by the depository.
Nicole Pruden, 34, Mount Olive, is charged with deceptive practice in connection with writing a check to Mt. Olive Enterprises, doing business as Mt. Olive Clark, on June 21, 2017, totaling $32.03 knowing the check would not be paid by the depository.

Lindsey Travis, 23, Troy, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a May 19 incident on South Hackman Street in Staunton around 10:46 p.m.
Janine Miller, 37, Mount Olive, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol by the driver in connection with a May 19 incident on South Hackman Street in Staunton around 10:23 p.m.

Macoupin County Clerk, Recorder & Elections Office temporarily relocating due to courthouse renovations

The Macoupin County Clerk, Recorder, and Elections Office will temporarily relocate across the street to the Macoupin County Voting Center, located at 227 E. First South in Carlinville, beginning Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The move is necessary to accommodate HVAC system renovations in the Macoupin County Courthouse. The temporary relocation is expected to last until mid-January 2026.
During this time, all regular services — including vital records, recordings, elections, and general clerk functions — will continue to be available at the Voting Center. Office hours and contact information will remain the same.
However, due to limited space during the renovation, public searching and certain in-person services may be restricted. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the many online services offered through the Clerk’s website, including:
- Searching and ordering vital records
- Accessing property and land records
- Viewing election information and forms
- Checking registration and voter status
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we make these necessary improvements to the Courthouse,” said Macoupin County Clerk Pete Duncan. “Our goal is to continue serving the public efficiently and safely, whether in person or online.”
