Jacob Burris, 46 of Springfield, is charged with possession of a firearm as a felon in connection with an October 11 incident.
Austin Weatherford, 20 of Carlinville, is charged with theft in connection with an October 8 incident. The incident was elevated to a felony due to previous convictions of similar nature.
Brian Ferguson, 55 of Girard, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery against a peace officer, possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine, resisting a peace officer and obstructing or destroying evidence in connection with a September 19 incident.
Erik Cheek, 39 of Shipman, is charged with possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine and failure to report an accident in connection with an October 13 incident.
Dakota Barrett, 19 of Farmersville, is charged with aggravated criminal sex abuse with a victim who is at least five years younger in connection with a September 19 incident.
Levi Compton, 42 of Sorento, is charged with driving with a revoked or suspended license in connection with a September 1 incident. The charge was elevated to a felony because of a previous offense of the same nature.

Michael De Bose, 33 of Virden, is charged with domestic battery by causing bodily harm in connection with an October 12 incident.
Johnelle Acup, 48 of Mt. Olive, is charged with domestic battery by causing bodily harm in connection with an October 12 incident.
Kylee Ferguson, 18 of Auburn, is charged with consumption of liquor by a minor in connection with an October 12 incident.
Chase Law, 20 of Chatham, is charged with consumption of liquor by a minor in connection with an October 12 incident.
Jeremy Cagle, 42 of Virden, is charged with criminal trespass to land in connection with incidents taking place on July 19 and September 29.
Mark Bersch, 62 of Carlinville, is charged with disorderly conduct in connection with an October 14 incident.
Kami Eaton, 42 of Mt. Olive, is charged with criminal damage to property in connection with an October 12 incident.
Charles Boaz, 48 of Gillespie, is charged with domestic battery by physical contact in connection with an October 15 incident.

Macoupin County Clerk, Recorder & Elections Office temporarily relocating due to courthouse renovations
The Macoupin County Clerk, Recorder, and Elections Office will temporarily relocate across the street to the Macoupin County Voting Center, located at 227 E. First South in Carlinville, beginning Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The move is necessary to accommodate HVAC system renovations in the Macoupin County Courthouse. The temporary relocation is expected to last until mid-January 2026.
During this time, all regular services — including vital records, recordings, elections, and general clerk functions — will continue to be available at the Voting Center. Office hours and contact information will remain the same.
However, due to limited space during the renovation, public searching and certain in-person services may be restricted. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the many online services offered through the Clerk’s website, including:
- Searching and ordering vital records
- Accessing property and land records
- Viewing election information and forms
- Checking registration and voter status
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we make these necessary improvements to the Courthouse,” said Macoupin County Clerk Pete Duncan. “Our goal is to continue serving the public efficiently and safely, whether in person or online.”
