LAWSUITS

MACO Management Co., Inc., has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Sharon and Patricia Hopper seeking $1,130 in alleged back rent and possession of residential premises located in the 600 block of Broadway Avenue, Gillespie.

Discover Bank is suing Rebecca S. Anderson, Carlinville, for $10,687.94 plus court costs that the plaintiff claims the defendant owes on an allegedly defaulted credit card account.

James McClelland, Auburn, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Brittany Kyle, Virden, seeking $750 in alleged back rent plus possession of residential premises located in the 900 block of East Lincoln, Virden.

Brian Myers Properties has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Zackary Pinkerton and Samatha Cuevas seeking $690 in alleged back rent plus possession of residential premises located in the 100 block of West Main Street, Mount Olive.

Midland Funding is suing Rebecca Anderson, Carlinville, for $10,289.93 plus court costs that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Citibank/Sears charge card account.

Credit Acceptance Corp. is suing Marie Barlow, Virden, for $10,675.25, plus court costs and $350 in attorney fees, the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted auto loan executed in February 2009 for the purchase of a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada Utility vehicle in the amount of $8,720.44

Michael B. Adkins, Carlinville, has filed a complaint in replevin against Janice L. Ryan, Plainview, claiming Ryan wrongfully holds personal property belonging to Adkins and valued at $4,375.22. The suit seeks a judgment for possession of the property, damages for any of the property not delivered to Adkins and damages for the alleged wrongful detention of the property.

SMALL CLAIMS

Gerald Cairns, East Gillespie, is suing Kim Casey, Staunton, for $437.32 plus court costs that the plaintiff claims is owed to him by the defendant.

Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Karla Mitchelar, Benld, for $902.55 plus court costs that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Citibank credit card account.

Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Gerald Campbell, Nilwood, for $1,306.47, plus court costs that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted GE Capital Retail Bank/Walmart credit card account.

Calvary SPV I, LLC, is suing Janet Meininger, Shipman, for $9,377.24 plus court costs that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Citibank credit card account.

Calvary SPV I, LLC, is suing Jessica Bondy, Staunton, for $724.26 plus court costs that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted HSBC Bank credit card account.

Calvary, SPV I, LLC, is suing Larry F. Grove, Bunker Hill, for $2,534.09 plus court costs that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Capital One credit card account.

Carlinville Area Hospital is suing Tammie Sue Thornton, Virden, for $1,898.39 plus court costs that the plaintiff claims is owed for medical services provided to the defendant or members of her family.

Carlinville Area Hospital is suing Carmen Bishop, Virden, for $1,200.14 plus court costs that the plaintiff claims is owed for medical services provided to the defendant or members of her family.

Consumer Collection Management is suing Donald E. and Kimberly J. Wieties, Carlinville, for $6,442.01 plus court costs. The judgment sought includes $5,510.35 allegedly owed to St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield, and $931.66 allegedly owed to Carlinville Area Hospital for medical services.

FELONIES

Shawn M. McBride, 28, Staunton, is charged with aggravated battery in connection with a Sept. 8 incident in Staunton during which he allegedly struck another individual in the face with his closed fist causing that person to sustain a broken jaw.

Nathan J. Smith, 24, Edwardsville, is charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license. The DUI charge is elevated to a felony because Smith’s driver’s license was suspended at the time he allegedly was operating a 1997 Ford Taurus on Illinois Route 159 at Mansholt Road, Bunker Hill, while under the influence of alcohol. The suspend license charge also was elevated to a felony because Smith was ineligible for a driving permit at the time of the alleged infraction. In addition to the two felony charges, Smith faces traffic charges for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and improper lane usage.

Blake Haley, 18, Girard, is charged with possession of methamphetamine in connection with an Oct. 24 incident in Girard during which he alleged possessed less than five grams of a substance containing the drug.

Patrick N. Butler, 30, Auburn, is charged with aggravated fleeing or eluding a police officer and driving on a revoked driver’s license in connection with an Oct. 26 incident during which he alleged fled on a Yamaha dirt bike after a Virden police officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Butler allegedly disobeyed three stop signs while fleeing the officer. The driving on a revoked license charge was elevated to a felony due to previous convictions on Butler’s record for driving on a revoked or suspended license from Sept. 20, 2007, Sept. 5, 2008 and March 13, 2012, in Sangamon County. In addition to the felony charges, Butler faces traffic charges for driving on a revoked license, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and three counts of disregarding a stop sign.

Savannah S. Ward, 24, Carlinville, is charged with burglary and theft in connection with an Oct. 27 incident during which she allegedly entered the Carlinville Walmart store with the intent to commit a theft and exercised unauthorized control over perfume and hair coloring with a value of less than $500. The charges were elevated to felonies due to a previous conviction for theft on Ward’s record from 2010 in Macoupin County.

Jessica L. Holliday, 26, Staunton, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery in connection with an Oct. 28 incident during which she alleged kicked a Staunton police officer in his upper thigh and shoved a second Staunton police officer into his patrol car while knowing both men to be peace officers engaged in the execution of their official duties.

MISDEMEANORS

Rodney V. Lott, 47, Medora, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis in connection with an Oct. 24 incident during which he allgedly possessed a glass pipe used for smoking marijuana and less than 2.5 grams of a substance containing cannabis.

Questsy A. Rivera, 40, Gillespie, is charged with retail theft for allegedly shop lifting a package of razor blades on Oct. 26 from the Dollar General store in Gillespie.

Joel E. Schoen, 37, Gillespie, is charged with disorderly conduct in connection with an Oct. 26 incident during which he allegedly threatened to kill a store employee in Gillespie if the employee called police to report a retail theft.

Harold Martin, 32, Girard, is charged with domestic battery in connection with an Oct. 28 incident during which he allegedly grabbed his wife around her neck.

Ryan A. Wheeler, 22, Chesterfield, is charged with criminal damage to property in connection with an incident during which he allegedly caused less than $300 in damage.

Kenneth L. Lucas, 48, Alton, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis.

Ryan W. Dann, 37, Gillespie, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis in connection with a Sept. 17 incident in Gillespie during which he alleged possessed a pipe for smoking marijuana and less than 2.5 grams of a substance containing cannabis.

James R. Springman, 49, Cottage Hills, is charged with violation of an order of protection in connection with an Aug. 6 incident during which he allegedly came within 2,000 feet of an individual in Mount Olive who was subject to an order of protection issued May, 14 by the Jersey County Circuit Court.

TRAFFIC

Tucker R. Stelle, 25, Virden is charged with two counts of driving under the infuence of alcohol in connection with an Oct. 25 incident on Old Route 4, Virden. In addition, Stelle faces a traffic charge for allegedly disregarding a stop sign.

Elizabeth M. Dugan, 35, Springfield, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and speeding 15 to 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit in connection with an Oct. 25 incident on Illinois Route 108 at Sumpter Road.

Sarah L. Winston, 36 of Carlinville, is charged with possession of methamphetamine (<5 grams) in connection with a November 4 incident.

Austin D. Courier, 30 of Vriden, is charged with driving on a suspended license in connection with a December 30 incident.

Courtney N. Lomelino, 23 of Virden, is charged with speeding 26-34 mph over the limit in connection with a December 25 incident.

William R. Dyer, 55 of Carlinville, is charged with leaving the scene, driver failing to give notice of a crash, transporting/carrying alcohol/driver, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper traffic lane usage, seat belt required/driver, and failure to reduce speed in connection with a January 4 incident.

Billy R. Austin, 44 of Modesto, is charged with expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and being unlicensed in connection with a January 4 incident.
