LAWSUITS
All Steel Products, Inc., Staunton, is suing a former employee, seeking actual damages in excess of $50,000 and punitive damages of $300,000. The suit, filed in Macoupin County Circuit Court by Litchfield attorney Andy Scharf, alleges that Todd Bone, Vandalia, violated a no-compete clause in his employment contract with the plaintiff that precluded the defendant from accepting employment with a competitor for a period of two years. The suit claims Bone entered into the contract on March 21, 2014, and left All Steel Products on July 13 this year. The plaintiff claims Bone accepted a position with a direct competitor, Titan Pipe and Tube, Staunton, which also is in the business of manufacturing and selling steel pipe, in violation of the no-compete provision. Further, the suit alleges Bone provided his new employer with customer lists and contact information, and contacted customers of All Steel Products in an attempt to adversely affect long-time contracts and business relationships. Count I of the suit seeks a restraining order precluding the defendant from using confidential customer information and trade secrets from All Steel Products, and prohibiting him from contacting All Steel Products’ existing or potential customers and inducing or attempting to induce customers and vendors to terminate their business relationships with All Steel Products. Counts II and III seek monetary damages and allege unlawful conversion of business and trade secrets, interference with the plaintiff’s business agreements, and a willful, deliberate and intentional attempt to damage the plaintiff’s business.

BenGil Staff
The Macoupin County Clerk, Recorder, and Elections Office will temporarily relocate across the street to the Macoupin County Voting Center, located at 227 E. First South in Carlinville, beginning Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The move is necessary to accommodate HVAC system renovations in the Macoupin County Courthouse. The temporary relocation is expected to last until mid-January 2026.
During this time, all regular services — including vital records, recordings, elections, and general clerk functions — will continue to be available at the Voting Center. Office hours and contact information will remain the same.
However, due to limited space during the renovation, public searching and certain in-person services may be restricted. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the many online services offered through the Clerk’s website, including:
- Searching and ordering vital records
- Accessing property and land records
- Viewing election information and forms
- Checking registration and voter status
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we make these necessary improvements to the Courthouse,” said Macoupin County Clerk Pete Duncan. “Our goal is to continue serving the public efficiently and safely, whether in person or online.”
Residents can visit www.macoupincountyclerk.com, call 217-854-3214, text 217-439-4499, or email elections@macoupincountyil.gov or recorder@macoupincountyil.gov for updates, online resources, and additional information.
