LAWSUITS
Janelle and Jared Brown have filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against James Benner, Girard, seeking $1,050 in alleged back rent, plus possession of residential premises located in the 500 block of West Franklin Street in Girard.
Mike Bassett and Sharon Rhodes have filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Edward J. and Amy M. Fudge, seeking of judgment of $17,831.25 the plaintiffs claim is owed to them, along with attorney fees, court costs, and possession of premises located in the 7500 block of Detour Road in rural Bunker Hill.
Lirim Seferi, Gillespie, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Erick Benington and Nikkole Weis, Carlinville, seeking $2,000 in alleged back rent, plus possession of residential premises located in the 900 block of Johnson Street in Carlinville.
CHS, Inc., Shipman, is suing Sonya Brook, doing business as Greentrac Recycling, Bunker Hill, for $22,073.66, along with court costs and a two percent monthly service fee, that the defendant allegedly owes for goods and services purchased on credit from June through July 2015.
Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Jennifer Branham, Staunton, for $14,161.36 that Branham allegedly owes on a defaulted L.L. Bean credit card account.
Old Republic Insurance Co. is suing Nicholas E. Bazzell, Bunker Hill, for $38,530.60, plus interest, court costs and attorney fees, that the plaintiff claims is owed on a $23,427 promissory note executed in December 2012.
SMALL CLAIMS
Altonized Community Federal Credit Union has filed a two-count small clams complaint against David A. James, Jr., Piasa. Count I seeks a judgment of $6,656.52, plus interest at a rate of 8.9 percent and court costs, allegedly owed on a defaulted $7,500 promissory note executed in January 2015, while Count II seeks $1,487.01 in attorney fees allegedly expended to collect a $2,400 promissory note executed in May 2015.
Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC, is suing Kayla Frame, Mount Olive, for $2,224.40, plus court costs, allegedly owed on a defaulted Synchrony Bank credit card account.
Springleaf Financial Services of Illinois, Springfield, is suing Henry A. Hunt, Carlinville, for $4,316.31, plus interest at a rate of 34.4 percent, court costs and attorney fees, allegedly owed on a defaulted $4,000 promissory note executed in January 2015.
Rob and Denise Wirth, Gillespie, is suing B & G Builders (Greg Birk), Staunton, for $5,402, claiming the defendant improperly installed a fitting at the concrete foundation on a perimeter drain.
Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Doyle Ivey, Jr., Staunton, for $1,107.58, plus court costs, allegedly owed on a defaulted Barclays Bank Delaware credit card account.
FELONIES
Samantha S. Sampson, 47, Palmyra, is charged with retail theft and possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine in connection with an Oct. 3 incident in Palmyra. The criminal information alleges Sampson was in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine when she was arrested for allegedly shoplifting make-up valued at less than $300 from the Dollar General Store in Palmyra. The retail theft charge was elevated to a felony due to a previous conviction for theft on Sampson’s record from 2000 in Morgan County.,
Justin R. Howerton, 20, Carlinville, is charged with grooming for allegedly using a computer between Aug. 21 and Sept. 19 to send messages to a minor with the intent to seduce the minor into sexual activity.
James A. Gristy, 61, Benld, is charged with delivery of cannabis in connection with a Feb. 17 incident during which he allegedly delivered 10 to 30 grams of a substance containing cannabis to an undercover law enforcement operative.
MISDEMEANORS
John Molinar, 30, Staunton, is charged with theft of property valued at less than $500 in connection with an Aug. 9 incident.
Gregory A. McMann, 51, Girard has been sentenced to probation and ordered to seek treatment for alcohol abuse after being convicted in connection with a pair of incidents occurring on Oct. 3. McMann was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly yelling, making obscene gestures and stepping in front of a school bus driven by a female driver and on which minors were passengers, and knocking on the door of a female Carlinville resident and repeatedly asking to be allowed inside the residence.
Ryan L. Marlen, 20, Gillespie, is charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 in connection with an Oct. 3 incident in Gillespie.
Bradley M.D. Miller, 18, Carlinville, is charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 in connection with a Sept. 30 incident in Carlinville.
Muhammad M. Lawal, 23, Maryville, is charged with obstructing identification in connection with an Oct. 7 incident during which he allegedly provided a false name to a Macoupin County Sheriff’s deputy after the deputy had detained him.
TRAFFIC
Cheyenne M. Bolton, 18, Springfield, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a Sept. 29 incident on Alton Road at Loveless Parkway in Carlinville. She also faces a traffic charge for alleged improper lane usage.
Taylor D. Auffarth, 26, Gillespie, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a Sept. 21 incident on Macoupin Street at Spruce Street in Gillespie. In addition, Auffarth was issued a traffic citation for allegedly driving on a suspended driver’s license.
Larry J. Price, 55, Virden, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with an Oct. 1 incident in the 900 block of North Springfield Street in Virden.
Sarah M. Dobrinich, 32, Bethalto, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with an Oct. 3 incident. She also faces traffic charges for allegedly driving on a revoked driver’s license, alleged improper lane usage and failure to wear a seat belt.
Braxton E. Hummell, 23, Petersburg, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with an Oct. 1 incident on Interstate 55 in northbound lanes near milepost 44. In addition, Hummell was issued traffic citations for driving on a suspended driver’s license, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver and improper lane usage.
Christian M. Grimes, 19, Mount Olive, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with an Oct. 1 incident on Church Street at East First North Street in Mount Olive. Grimes also faces traffic charges for allegedly operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failing to reduce the speed of his vehicle to avoid an accident and failing to report an accident to police.
