A Macoupin man died Monday afternoon around 2:43 p.m. following a two-vehicle accident that happened on Oak Rest Road near Illinois Route 16 in Jersey County, according to Illinois State Police.
Illinois State Police said Wayne Moore, 60 of Piasa, was driving a 2022 Polaris Ranger on Oak Rest Road when he attempted to make a left-hand turn into a field access entrance.
At the same time, Rebecca Courtoise, 54 of a Piasa, was passing Moore and struck the rear of the Polaris causing it to rollover into the field west of Oak Rest Road. Wayne was pronounced deceased on scene while his passenger, Herbert Moore, 62 of Jerseyville, was injured and transported to a local hospital.
Courtoise was uninjured. No more information was available at the time of publication.
