Betty Ann Roth, 86 of Carlinville, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at her home in Carlinville. Betty was born on April 18, 1939, in Greenfield a daughter of Marion “Tom” and Mary Elizabeth (Richie) Armstrong.
Betty graduated from Greenfield High School with the class of 1957. She married Frederick “Fred” Roth on April 23, 1960, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Betty was a homemaker and member of Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church.
She loved bowling, on her own and as a team with Fred, and was a fixture at Bowlero Lanes for decades. She also enjoyed watching game shows usually with a bundle of yarn on her lap as she crocheted until a stroke 15 years ago took that hobby away.
Betty is survived by her son, Rick Roth of Hettick; son, Tom (Sharon) Roth of Urbana; son, Jim (Janet) Roth of Carlinville; son, Lyndell (Stacey Rouse) Roth of Carlinville; grandchildren, Casey (Kevin) Spitz, Derek (Venessa) Roth, Emily (Sean) Kenny, Megan (Britany Choate) Roth, Jessica (Jason) Nelson, Brandon Roth, Riley, and Jack and Sophie Rouse; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jason, and Morgan Spitz, Charlie Roth, and Leo Nelson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Margaret Huff; and brother, Joe Armstrong.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church, Carlinville. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church, Carlinville. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Hagaman.
