Rose Marie Tebbe, 83, died at Staunton Memorial Hospital, Staunton on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 1:50 a.m. She was born on December 4, 1941, to Vito and Anna Lacopo. She was a lifelong resident of Sawyerville and graduated from Benld High School in 1959. She worked over 30 years at People’s State Bank, later renamed United Community Bank, in Gillespie in a variety of banking roles.
Rose married Ralph Anthony Tebbe, 86, on September 3, 1960, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Benld. Both were devout Catholics who were parishioners of St. Joseph for their entire marriage. Together they also raised Arabian horses on their farm for over 60 years.
They have four children, Mark (Robin) Tebbe, Cindy Brummett, Ken (Nancy) Tebbe, and Tony (Cristal) Tebbe. During her life, Rose enjoyed her 21 grandchildren, Steven (Annie Rees) Tebbe, Kira Rose Tebbe, Ashley (Brant) McFarland, Andrew (Kelsey) Brummett, Ashlee Martin, Taylor (Brandon) Wright, Dylan Tebbe, Emily Tebbe, Angie (Tony) Marquez, Nathaniel Casarez, Johnathan Casarez, and Anya Casarez, J.R. (Katie) Berger, and Michael (Megan Robbins) Berger. Rose was also very proud of her 17 great grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother, John Lacopo; sister-in-law Rosalie Lacopo; and brother-in-laws, Dennis Tebbe and Earl Stoops.
She is survived by her brother, Mike (Ann) Lacopo; sister in laws, Lorraine (Ike) Hines and Mary Stoops; and brother in law, Don (Nancy) Tebbe; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A wake is being held on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld. Memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at St. Joseph’s Church in Benld at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Gillespie immediately following mass.
