The annual Black Diamond Days Pageant will kick off Gillespie’s annual festival on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., June 2, inside the air-conditioned gymnasium at Ben-Gil Elementary. The festival’s 2016 royalty Miss Nina Moutrie and Junior Miss Megan Hatlee will crown this year’s royalty after they retire their reign. Six girls are vying for the 2017 Junior Miss title while five ladies are vying for the 2017 Miss title.
Tickets for the pageant are available for purchase at the door before the event for $6/each or in advance from Pageant Director Gina Frensko or any contestant.
