After a solid 11-1 win over Beecher in the first round of the IESA 2A State Tournament Friday afternoon, the Gillespie Middle School Indians’ baseball team struggled on day two of the state tournament dropping both of their games to end the season fourth best in state with an overall record of 14-4.
Gillespie opened the day Saturday morning with a 2-10 loss to Teutopolis, who advanced to the state championship, and then dropped the third place match-up Saturday afternoon to Wenoma Fieldcrest by a walk-off heartbreaking hit.
