A deputy from the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office is in stable condition after having to be airlifted from the scene of a single-vehicle accident that happened early Saturday morning around 5:30 a.m.
Deputy Nate Albracht had been responding to an emergency call in Girard when he got into the accident.
Chief Deputy Quinn Reiher said Albracht was driving east on Emmerson Airline when his car left the road and struck a tree. Albracht was taken to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
