A 28-year-old Irving female has been charged with a felony in connection with a deadly accident that happened Wednesday evening in Irving.
Officials said the accident happened around 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday on Illinois Route 16 near Grandpoint Avenue. Police said a 2002 red Ford Focus was traveling west on Route 16 when it struck a pedestrian walking in the same location. The vehicle struck the pedestrian without stopping and left the scene of the crash.
The driver was identified as Miranda Davidson, 28 of Irving, and her passenger was identified as Shawn Evans, 34 of Carlinville after they later returned to the site of the accident and reported the crash.
Davidson was charged with a class 2 felony of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in a death by the office of Montgomery County State’s Attorney Andrew Affrunti and her bond was set at $100,000.
The victim, Bethany A. Dixon, 24 of Hillsboro, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The Illinois State Police (ISP) Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit and ISP Zone 6 is in charge of the investigation.
