Conrad Sherman Kee, 87 of Staunton, passed away peacefully with family by his side at his residence on Monday, October 18, 2021. He was born on February 4, 1934, in Elco, IL, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse and Donetta (Brooks) Kee.
He married Barbara Wilhite on June 24, 2018, in Staunton and she survives. He worked as an electrician with the United Steel Workers Union for 38 years. Conrad served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and Trinity Methodist Church of Granite City. He enjoyed the outdoors, long walks, and taking photographs.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilhite-Kee of Staunton; five children, Tina (Vince) Lillis of Tampa, FL, Debby Marshall of Edwardsville, Carey (Cody) Moore of Edwardsville, Gary Wilhite II of Wood River and Ryan Wilhite of St. Louis, MO; seven grandchildren, Adam & Ethan Kee, Ashley Stoeckel, Jessica Biel, Caitlyn, Nick, and Ava Tyczka; great-granddaughter, Kendra Stoeckel; three brothers, Denny, Bobby, and Stanley Kee; sister, Donna Jean Mathis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Conrad Shawn Kee and Leland Hamilton Kee; seven brothers, Lee, Jesse, Vernon, Eanos, George, Lester, and Dale Wayne Kee; and two sisters, Shirley Almedia and Betty Lou Kee.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton followed by memorial services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will follow.
Memorials are suggested to either Staunton VFW Post # 1241, Wounded Warrior Project or the Sierra Club. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
