
Doris Mae Kuenneth, 82 of Mount Olive, died Thursday, September 10, 2020, at 8:05 p.m. at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield. She was born on June 29, 1938, in rural Mt. Olive to the late Emil Monke and Leona Heien Monke.
She married James Charles Kuenneth on June 20, 1959, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2001. Doris attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Mt. Olive High School with the Class of 1956. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a housewife.
Doris is survived by two sons, Jim (Lisa) Kuenneth of Windchester, CA and Jeff (Connie) Kuenneth of Bloomington; daughter, Pam (Dan) Swick of Downers Grove, IL; three granddaughters, Tayler Kuenneth, Andrea “Andy” Swick Newhouse and Rebecca Swick; two grandsons, Jacob Kuenneth and Tanner Kuenneth; sister, Delores Crittenden; and sister-in-law, Dolores Monke.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Orville, LaVern and Gilbert Monke; and five sisters, Ethel Schmidt, Adele Kanckstedt, Eleanor Favre, Sharon Pakovich and Lorene Schoen.
There will be a public visitation to offer condolences to the family on Saturday, October 10, 2020, from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mt. Olive. Private family graveside services and burial will follow at the Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Becker & Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
