Douglas Floyd Cottingham, 64, passed away peacefully Monday, November 19 as he laid sleeping. He was born on September 5, 1954. A poetically beautiful finish for the life of a dreamer like him. To know him was to see his stars, and to dream his dreams right along with him. His music filled the homes of his family and friends, and touch the hearts of everyone that would listen.
He was proceeded, as nature intends, by his mother Vera Eileen and father Howard Floyd.
His love, laughter and music live on in his wife, Debra Lynn Cottingham; sister, Judith Ann Cottingham Schoen (wife of the late Phillip Schoen); sons, Albert Leon Franks III, Michael Phillip Franks, Jason Howard Cottingham, and Douglas Floyd Cottingham Jr; daughter-in-law, Julia Teresa Cottingham; grandson, Skyllar Patrick Cottingham; nieces, Kara Schoen and Jami Koniak (wife of Jeff Koniak); and ggreat-nephew,Ryder Koniak.
In honor of a life of service, kindness, love, and passion there will be a memorial service held on Saturday, December 15 at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home (209 East Locust St., Lafayette, TN 37083).
