Norita Lou Fisher, 85 of Litchfield, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 2:52 p.m. at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Clayton, MO with her daughter by her side. Mrs. Fisher was born in Litchfield on April 24, 1937, a daughter of Ben and Dortha Jewel (Smith) Weatherford.
She graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1955 where she was a majorette. She married Ronald Lee Fisher on Christmas Day 1958 at Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield. He survives.
Mrs. Fisher was a life-long resident of Litchfield and through the years was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Revenue, Fashion Lane, Mohr Value, the Litchfield News-Herald, Nabisco, and Wal-Mart. She was a water aerobics instructor for Swim & Trim, enjoyed boating on the Illinois River and Lake Lou Yaeger, riding her motorcycle, playing cards with her Bunco group, bowling, and spending time with her friends.
She loved her two dogs, Mattie Lou and Mollie Lou, both now deceased. Mrs. Fisher was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and treasured the times spent with all of them. She also enjoyed traveling with her daughter to Florida and attending the sporting events of her children. She was a member of Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fisher is survived by her son, Tim Fisher of Litchfield; her daughter, Kim (John Mark) Graham of Creve Couer, MO; her brother, Gerald Ray (Carol) Weatherford of Avon, IN; her sister, Dorothy Ann Clotfelter of Vail, AZ; her grandson, Luke A. Graham of Clayton, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Shirley Russell Dean Weatherford.
A celebration of life for Mrs. Fisher will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield. The Rev. Cassie Sexton-Riggs will officiate. Inurnment will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
