LAWSUITS

Maco Management Co. has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Rachel Cox and Jim Woeful, Brighton, seeking $146 in alleged unpaid rent, plus possession of a residential apartment located in the 1100 block of Rogers Court in Brighton.

SMALL CLAIMS

Carlinville Area Hospital is suing Cindy Jean Barrow, Carlinville, for $2,343.38, plus court costs, allegedly owed for unpaid medical services.

Consumer Collection Management is suing Derek Lee Challacombe, Carlinville, for $2,477.07, plus court costs. The judgment sought includes $2,191.45 allegedly owed to Carlinville Area Hospital and $285.62 allegedly owed to Litchfield Family Practice.

Carlinville Area Hospital is suing Jeffery Alan Chapman, Carlinville, for $6,360.50, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed for medical services.

Carlinville Area Hospital is suing Dakota Scott Coffey, Greenfield, for $5,738.25, plus cost, allegedly owed for unpaid medical services.

Consumer Collection Management is suing Heather Helmsley, Gillespie, for $1,783.26, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed for medical services provided by SLU-Care, St. Louis, Mo.

Consumer Collection Management is suing Allen R. and Rosalee Joy Hulett, Carlinville, for $1,360.22, plus court costs. The judgment sought includes $923.44 allegedly owed to Carlinville Area Hospital and $436.78 allegedly owed to St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

Consumer Collection Management is suing Daniel C. and Lauren M. Karrick, Carlinville, for $1,942.76, plus court costs. The judgment sought includes $1,147 allegedly owed to St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, and $795.76 allegedly owed to Carlinville Area Hospital.

Consumer Collection Management is suing John Joseph McDaniel, Benld, for $2,042.22, plus court costs. The judgment sought includes $1,819.01 allegedly owed to St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, $118 allegedly owed to Macoupin Family Practice, Gillespie, and $105.21 allegedly owed to St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield.

Consumer Collection Management is suing Jennifer M. Martin, Mount Olive, for $2,055.15, plus court costs. The judgment sought includes $1,523.18 allegedly owed to St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield, $340 allegedly owed to St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, and $191.97 allegedly owed to Carlinville Area Hospital.

Consumer Collection Management is suing Aaron C. and Dorothy M. Metcalf, Gillespie, for $3,663.07, plus court costs. The judgment sought includes $3,504.49 allegedly owed to St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield, and $158.58 allegedly owed to Macoupin Family Practice, Gillespie.

Carlinville Area Hospital is suing Daniel Ryan Warren, Plainview, for $1,838.97, plus court costs, allegedly owed for unpaid medical services.

Heights Finance Corp is suing Julia Gaston, Benld, for $622.84, plus pre-judgment interest of 33.75 percent, post-judgment interest of nine percent, court costs and attorney fees. The plaintiff claims the judgment is owed on a defaulted loan for $1,824.38 executed Aug. 29, 2013, at an interest rate of 35.16 percent.

Alton Multispecialists, Ltd., is suing Barbara A. Moore, Staunton, for $781.03, plus court costs, allegedly owed for medical services.

FELONIES

Andrea C. Gustafon, 41, Carlinville, is charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine in connection with a Feb. 11 incident in Carlinville.

Carl Ray G. Anderson, 38, Carlinville, is charged with possession of a controlled substance in connection with a Feb. 11 incident in Carlinville during which he allegedly possessed more than 15 grams but less than 1,000 grams of a substance containing heroin.

Johnny C. Watkins, 21, Chicago, is charged with possession of a controlled substance in connection with an Aug. 15, 2017, incident during which he allegedly possessed an unspecified quantity of a substance containing heroin.

Edward Sanders, 46, Evanston, is charged with possession of a controlled substance in connection with an Aug. 15, 2017, incident during which he allegedly possessed an unspecified quantity of a substance containing cocaine.

Ryan A. Wheeler, 24, Chesterfield, is charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license in connection with a Dec. 13, 2017, incident during which he allegedly drove a southbound 2001 Ford pick-up on Illinois Route 111 near Chesterfield at a time when his license was revoked or suspended. The charge was elevated to a felony due to six previous convictions for the same or similar offenses on his record in Macoupin County.

MISDEMEANORS

Jeremy A. Spears, 41, Bethallto, is charged with obstructing a peace officer in connection with a Feb. 13 incident in Staunton during which he allegedly fled from a Staunton police officer after being lawfully commanded to stop.

TRAFFIC

David H. Guild, 73, Gillespie, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a Feb. 5 incident at about 10:40 p.m. at the Fast Stop gas station in Staunton.

Joshua M. Constable, 22, Brighton, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a Feb. 7 incident at about 11:36 p.m. in the 400 block of North Maple Street in Brighton. In addition, he faces traffic charges for alleged improper lane usage and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

Brandon O. Fullington, 32, Carlinville, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a Feb. 10 incident at about 12:30 a.m. on West Main Street at Plum Street in Carlinville. In addition, he faces a traffic charge for allegedly operating a motor vehicle with an expired registration.

Staunton man found guilty of criminal sexual assault

A verdict was rendered on Tuesday in about 35 minutes for a Staunton man who was found guilty of criminal sexual assault.

Dillard Dehart Jr., 66 of Staunton, was charged with the offense on February 17, 2022, after his niece had accused him of the offense and had secretly recorded parts of the offense.

The secretly recorded videos were played for the jury, according to Macoupin County State’s Attorney Jordan Garrison who called multiple witnesses and tried the case.

Sentencing for Dehart Jr. is set for October 4, 2023.
