Julie Marie Slightom Jenkins, 66, of Carlinville, formerly of Raymond, passed away on January 12, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. Julie was born in Litchfield, on February 28, 1957, to Ross and Veda (Wilson) Slightom.
She was a graduate of Raymond Lincolnwood High School and attended LLCC studying culinary arts and receiving her food handlers’ license. Julie managed several local restaurants and enjoyed being a homemaker for her family. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed going to all their sporting events. She loved to cook and fish. She was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal fan.
She married Dave Jenkins on December 23, 1993, and he survives along with her children, Melinda Cagle of Carlinville, Jeremy Cagle of Virden, Madeline (Tanner Newingham) Jenkins of White Hall, and Alexandria Jenkins of Carrolton, grandchildren, Kysten, Parker, Kylie, Brandon, Chaeli, Jace, Jaxton, Hemi and Easton. Julie is also survived by her siblings David (Gloria) Slightom of Joliet, Michael (Jane) Slightom of Raymond, Dennis Slightom of Virden, and Jo Ellen (Rusty) Moore of Virden. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jason Cagle, and sister, Janice White in 2020.

Visitation for Julie will be on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at Hough’s in Raymond with Rev. Tim Rhodus of Cross Church in Carlinville, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend.
