The annual fall festival presented by the Coal Country Chamber of Commerce was the main attraction in the BenGil area Saturday, September 24 despite warm temperatures. A few vendors who spoke to The BenGil Post said attendance was heavy in the morning, but dropped off throughout the day when temperatures continued to rise.
The highlights of the day were big musical performances under the covered pavilion by Amy Hailstone and Steve Davis as Elvis who was opened by Thomas Hickey and Anna Blair acting as Buddy Holly and Patsy Cline.

A three-hour “Memories of Elvis” show featuring Elvis Presley impersonator Steve Davis is always the featured performer for the festival.

Organizers of the Illinois Valley Economic Development Corp’s Rehabilitation Center personalize handmade decorative items.
