Jordan Rosentreter was recently awarded the IESA Scholar Attitude Award. Jordan is an 8th grade student at Gillespie Middle School and is the daughter of Rodney & Jill Rosentreter. Jordan participates in softball and volleyball and has been on honor roll all 3 years of her middle school career.
Thirty students from across the state who attend IESA member schools were selected by a panel of judges. Jordan was honored with a luncheon on April 26th at the Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in Bloomington.

Criteria for being nominated are: One 8th grade student may be nominated from each school, he/she must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for both 7th and 8th grade year, must have participated in at least one IESA activity during their 7th and 8th grade year and he/she must have demonstrated outstanding citizenship during their middle school tenure.
Prior to receiving their award, each student was personally addressed by Mr. Steven Endsley, Executive Director of IESA. Mr. Endsley drew remarks from information given to him by each applicant in application process.
Mr. Stephen Bargatze, from the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Student Services Program was the day’s guest speaker. Mr. Bargatze is an internationally acclaimed comedian and motivational speaker. A true joy to watch, he performs illusions and magic tricks while speaking of obstacles he has had to overcome throughout his life.
