The Coal Country Chamber of Commerce welcomed newest member Dona Rauzi, Travel Consultant, of Damar Travel & Cruise, in downtown Gillespie. Steve Kluthe was sworn in as alderman last week by Attorney Kevin Polo. Kluthe replaced Gus Ottersburg and will be on the council for one year until he has to run for re-election.

Coal Country Times made a big move last week. The print newspaper now is housed at 105 South Macoupin, right next to the old Dollar General.
The Gillespie Police Department replaced an old squad car this past week with a used Crown Victoria. The car will be striped this week.
Bobby Carr explains his science fair project Wednesday evening during the 8th grade science fair. His experiment tested bottled or tap water.
Joni Paine, high school guidance counselor, informed the Rotary how GHS prepares and pushes students to succeed. They also try to set each student up with as many scholarships as possible.
CUSD #7 updates the City of Gillespie that traffic is now flowing smoothing and previous comments that administrators are not present were false.
