Reid's Service is Coal Country Chamber Business of the Year at an award ceremony at the Chamber's annual banquet on Saturday, March 3, at Amore` Banquet Center. Students from Gillespie Middle School get some fresh air during the nice weather this past week. The students endured a week long of strenuous ISAT testing.

The girls on the Gillespie High School track team broke out the t-shirts and shorts for track practice this past week.

Cavallo Bus Lines installed a new sign outside their main office in Gillespie, Illinois this past week. The new sign is visible both night and day.

Andy Manar opens his campaign headquarters in Staunton, Illinois this past week. Over 125 people were in attendance.

During their second week of practice, Coach Michelle Smith explains situations to the softball players. The girls will play their first game next Tuesday in Greenville.

State's Attorney Jennifer Watson explained that the felony charges have dropped since 2010 when she spoke at the Area Rotary meeting Tuesday.
