2 qualify to compete at State
Sam Clay earned a First Place ribbon, while Marissa Hartke, Reagan Goldasich, Owen Carter, Emily Harszy, Colin Tieman and Stephen Demartini earned Outstanding ribbons. All Outstanding ribbon earners qualified for a second round of judging during the afternoon at the fair.
During the awards ceremony, Colin Tieman earned a nomination to compete in the Broadcom Masters competition with his project on healthy teeth.
Emily Harszy earned a first place prize in the Jean V. Price Watershed category, along with the qualification to participate at the state level.
Stephen Demartini won a first place prize of a year’s membership at the St. Louis Science Center from the American Chemical Society, along with the qualification to participate at the state level.
Emily and Stephen will present their environmental projects at the University of Illinois on Saturday, May 5.
